I'd always been interested in photography, ever since I was a kid. However, my passion turned to music as with most children that tend to pick up a piano before a camera.
My experience as a session musician and then music journalist ended in up in reviewing the amazing Austin City Limits festival for the first time in 2010. All I needed to know was that I was currently walking to work in the rain and I was guaranteed 32 degree sunshine with some of my all time favourite artists; muse, the eagles, the xx to name a few.
The best part of this - I was shooting! Whilst it took me a day to get over how amazing it felt to be shooting my idols from the press pit under the stage I absolutely loved it. It gave me an adrenalin rush I'd never felt before and so I continued to pursue it. I found myself hungry to capture amazing moments and make them into memories, just real, authentic shots of artists doing what the love. That's what I hope you see in my pictures.
To anyone wondering if you need a degree or training to pick up a camera. I can tell you - it's all about talent, a great eye and a love for what you're doing. Nothing makes you strive for what you want more than you're desire to go out and grab it with both hands.
